Before you start
Aspen is an unofficial beta, built and run by one student. It is not a company. A quick rundown:
- The creator can see your chats. Everything you store in Aspen (chats, files, practice and plans) can be read by the creator, to run and fix the site. Don't put anything here that you wouldn't want them to read.
- Use it for studying. The course material belongs to your instructors and your university. It is here for your own study, so don't share it, and don't use Aspen to cheat.
- AI can be wrong. Check an answer against your course material before you rely on it, even when it cites a file.
- Your messages go to AI models. Most models run on providers that don't keep what they are sent (zero data retention). A model labelled as a test can keep it. Aspen never sends your name or your email to a model.
- No ads, and your data is never sold.
- It's a beta. Aspen can break, lose data or shut down. Keep your own copy of anything important. To have your data deleted, ask the creator.
